Puerto Rico; I wanna go back!

Spent this past week in beautiful Coco Beach, Puerto Rico and am missing its colour and HEAT so much already.

Yes, my immune system let me down, and I was of course sick for a lot of it, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the wonderfulness of the Caribbean and time spent with my family.

We stayed at the Gran Melia Resort on Coco Beach (on the same property as the Trump International Golf Course) and it was magnificent!

The traditional caged parrot was of course present, along with a HUGE pool and swim up bar, tennis courts and grasses full of exotic iguana.

The week was filled with late breakfasts, hours by the pool, early dinners and the 2010 Winter Olympics. And I honestly would not change a thing!

On our last day, we rented a car and headed to the El Yunque Rainforest high up in the cloud filled mountains.

From high above the canopy you can see vast amounts of green and the beautiful turquoise of the ocean below.

Stunning!

No pictures or words can describe the combination of exotic sounds, smells and views you experience in the rainforest.

After the rainforest, we all headed to the heart of Puerto Rico; San Juan. Another beautiful sight to see in Puerto Rico. It emits a combined feeling of France and Barcelona, Spain.

I was truly surprised to have enjoyed myself so much while there. Lots of history, blue cobble stone roads, restaurants and rustic spirit.
I miss it. The cold is drying out my skin, and my some-what of a tan is already fading.

At least I still have gorgeous photos, great memories and a wretched stomach bug to remind me of our wonderful holiday.

Thank you once again Mom and Dad!
