The Joy of Learning

I want to take this opportunity to tell you about all the wonderful, wonderful things my Mother is doing for the Autism community and for children living with Autism.

In 2007 the Joy of Learning Centre (JoLC) was opened, welcoming children of all personalities and abilities to enrich their lives and reach their maximum potential.

In less than 3 years, my mother and her therapists have given children who could not speak, a voice.

They have given children who incessantly banged their heads until their noses bled, a way to communicate their frustrations.

They have taught these children how to make friends and be social, when it seemed friendships could never be formed.

I am SO VERY proud of my Mom for all of her hard work and constant dedication to those children and their families. She has donated every waking moment to them, and it's evident.

I know I speak for all of her children at school, at the youth group she runs every month, at the autism soccer, baseball, hockey, and swimming groups she coordinates with my Dad, and for all the parents, when I say THANK YOU MOM.
